When I first got on the VICTRIP R7, I honestly didn't expect such a small electric dirt bike to have this much power. After riding it on the road and taking it off-road, I can say that this thing is seriously fun.

The R7 comes with a 4,000W peak mid-drive motor producing 220 Nm of torque, a 60V 25Ah removable LG battery, and a FarDriver 75A controller. VICTRIP claims up to 55 miles of range depending on riding conditions.

My First Ride on the R7

The first thing I noticed was the acceleration. It's explosive.

I tested the bike in the highest speed mode, and it reached 41.2 mph on my GPS. The bike's display showed about 42.5 mph. For a mini electric dirt bike, that's seriously impressive.

What I really like, though, is that the throttle isn't difficult to control. I can barely twist it and make the bike crawl, but when I need the power, it's right there.

That makes the R7 feel both aggressive and surprisingly controllable.

How Does It Handle?

The 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel setup makes the R7 feel extremely nimble. I can easily move the bike around corners, and the smaller size makes it feel playful rather than bulky.

The suspension is another highlight for me. The R7 uses a hydraulic front fork and a nitrogen rear shock. I tested it over bumps and even hopped a curb, and the suspension handled it really well.

The seat is also much more comfortable than I expected. It's wide, fairly long, and gives me enough room to move around when cornering.

My Off-Road Test

This is where the R7 really impressed me.

I took it onto hills and rough terrain, and the bike climbed everything I threw at it without much effort. The motor has plenty of torque, and the suspension did a great job absorbing bumps.

I did have too much air pressure in the tires during part of the test, so I was slipping around more than I should have. With lower tire pressure, I think the traction would have been even better.

Honestly, at some points, I felt like my riding skills were the only thing limiting the bike.

What I Like About the R7

There are quite a few things I like about this bike:

  • Very strong acceleration
  • 41.2 mph GPS-tested speed
  • Excellent low-end torque
  • Comfortable seat
  • Good hydraulic suspension
  • Strong hydraulic brakes
  • Agile 14/12 wheel setup
  • Knobby off-road tires
  • Tunable FarDriver controller
  • Great overall riding experience

The brakes also performed well during my testing. I estimated around 20 feet of stopping distance from about 20 mph, and the brakes should improve further after bedding in.

What I Don't Like

The R7 isn't perfect.

My biggest complaints are actually pretty minor. I wish it had a horn, as well as a tail light and brake light. Those features would make the bike more practical, especially when riding around other people or at night.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a larger wheel setup, although I really like how agile the current 14/12 configuration feels.

Is the VICTRIP R7 Worth It?

At around $1,599, I think the R7 offers very good value for riders who want a powerful mini electric dirt bike.

For me, the biggest selling point isn't just the numbers. It's the riding experience.

I can jump on this bike, twist the throttle, and immediately have a huge smile on my face. It's fast, responsive, comfortable, and extremely capable off-road.

So, would I recommend the VICTRIP R7?

Yes.

If you're looking for a compact electric dirt bike with serious power and you're more interested in having fun than simply getting from point A to point B, the R7 is definitely worth checking out.

The review also mentions the more powerful R7 Pro, but after riding the standard R7, I already think this bike has more than enough performance for most recreational riders.

My final verdict: the VICTRIP R7 is small in size, but absolutely not small in performance.
